2012 AGRIVENTURE GLOBAL GATHERING IN YORK !!

York in the UK is the perfect setting for our Annual meetings in 2012. Set away from the more cosmopolitan parts of the UK, York is steeped in history and is classic England. We will ensure that the hard work is done during our formal sessions but we also ensure that you take in some of the history scenery and culture and perhaps even a good old English pub or two whilst having fun!

Like York, IAEA has a long history and our Annual International Board meetings are the only time in the year when we all meet face to face. 

At this year’s gathering we will have the International Board (IAEA representatives from each member Country) the AgriVenture Staff from all of the offices together with the Corporate Board. We will have the set meetings which any IAEA member is welcome to attend. We will also make sure there is a lot to see and do if you are planning to come to York but might not attend every meeting.  We are staying at the Best Western MonkBar Hotel, right in the centre of York. I can guarantee that you will really enjoy meeting up with other IAEA members from around the world and the contacts and getting to know each other is a great benefit from being involved in an organisation like IAEA. The IAEA meetings are important but the social network that evolves from events like this is invaluable. 

The whole event will start on Tuesday afternoon 29th May and will go through to Sunday morning 2nd June, so even if you can only spare a day or two, it would be great to welcome you along. If coming in from overseas you might plan to take in more of the UK or Europe as part of the visit, perhaps to visit IAEA friends or past Trainees that you haven’t seen for a year or two.

During Saturday and Saturday night we are encouraging as many IAEA members and friends from the UK & Eire to attend, so the day will be both informal and informative.   We are holding a UK & Eire information day during the Saturday, as we think that this will be a great opportunity for Trainees who are thinking about going on a programme to ask our Global representatives those important questions. Saturday night we are looking to swell our numbers for the final event of the 2012 International Global Gathering.

As the event is being held in the UK, if you are a member or you know someone who has been on an AgriVenture programme, why not take this opportunity to get together and share some of your stories with everyone……  we’d love to see you there and we guarantee a great welcome to you all.

So, give it some thought then fill in the delegate registration form and start making your plans. We are looking forward to giving you a great welcome in York; it will be too good to miss!

A must see whilst in York is a national Institution, Little Betty’s  Café and the famous ‘The Shambles’ olde worlde shopping experience!
